Proceedings, 1974-1976 [state publication].

This series contains proceedings of the various conferences sponsored by the Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium. The Governor's Conference on Coastal Zone Management was designed to address coastal zone management from the federal, state, regional, and local viewpoints, using keynote addresses. A panel from seven different fields (industry, tourism, fisheries, etc.) discussed areas of particular concern. The Ala. Coastal Leaders Conference purported to help inform the public and to obtain their suggestions and support for the program. The Ala. Public Meeting Series on Coastal Zone Boundaries continued to solicit public comment on the definition of the coastal zone boundary. The proceedings summarize five meetings held in Mobile and Baldwin counties and the report attempts to draw general conclusions. The series illustrates the Board's role in encouraging public participation and in promoting the exchange of information. These proceedings were partially financed by the Dept. of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The program was administered by the State Planning Division, Ala. Development Office.
